 On December 3rd, Gonzalo Grau y La Clave Secreta CD got the nomination to the 51st GRAMMY AWARDS. Its latest CD "Frutero Moderno" will compete in the BEST TROPICAL LATIN ALBUM OF THE YEAR category. The ceremony will be held in Los Angeles, CA, on February 8th, 2009.

Music Director Michael Christie and members of the BP are joined by internationally-acclaimed multi-instrumentalist composer and arranger Gonzalo Grau, and his band, La Clava Secreta, a 12-piece modern salsa fusion ensemble that experiments with Cuban, classical, jazz, funk, Greek, Venezuelan, and even flamenco for this high-energy salsa fusion dance night that’s sure to appeal to both the passive listener and those who want to get up and move those hips!

| LA TIMBA LOCA changes its name to Gonzalo Grau y LA CLAVE SECRETA. |
After nine years of existence, the band formerly known as "La Timba Loca" changes its name. The hard decision was taken after the need to re-direct the project to a more serious and mature approach, said its music director Gonzalo Grau. In addition, having the word "timba" within our name has work against us, it has labeled and limited our music to an specific style and audience. Our music travels beyond the timba standards, and it would be a shame that "non timba fans" neglect to this new production. Lastly, the word "loca" simply had to go... no comments needed!
